Changes are in the wind

Hi friends. We’ve enjoyed some much-needed rest and some relaxation with family and friends over these past several weeks. And we’ve had some excitement along the way! (See the photos for a sample.) Now, we’re starting the next leg of this journey God’s got planned out for us.

I went "skydiving" on my birthday ... talk about new adventures!

I went “skydiving” on my birthday … talk about new adventures!

As of yesterday, Sandy and I are appointed to THQ in Chicago (Des Plaines, Illinois) in the US Central Territory. Sandy is Command Auditor for Adult Rehabilitation Center Command. I’m Development Resources Coordinator in the Community Relations and Development Department.

We’re happy to be working again, and happy to be ‘home.’ Especially we’re happy to be near our kids and our grandson! We’re excited to see what this new adventure will mean.

I’m working on revising this blog so that our stories of the adventure in PNG are preserved and accessible, but I can begin to use this page for a broader creative outlet as I tell about the continuing adventures while we pursue the ministry God’s called us to.

... and I still remembered how to water ski!

Thank you for following our story. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. Thanks for the support while we were in Papua New Guinea. You can’t imagine how desperately we were in need of it while we were so far from home. You are appreciated!

Now, stay tuned for the next exciting chapter … (Yes, Sandy, I know that sounds an awful lot like my favorite part of a TV series – the previews of next week’s episode!)
